Leadership

Leadership can be described as the science of influencing others. It implies that someone is willing to follow and confer power and status on another person.

• Good leadership is the art of influencing individuals and groups so that they achieve set goals.

• All successful teams have one or more individuals who propel those around them to achieve their dreams and desires.

• In the absence of strong leaders, conflict can often occur among a group which desecrates the potential energy that should be directed towards the accomplishment of team goals.

While leadership is easy to explain, leadership is not so easy to practice. Leadership is about behaviour first, skills second.Good leaders are followed chiefly because people trust and respect them, rather than the skills they possess.  Some people are born more naturally to leadership than others.

Most people don't seek to be a leader. However those who want to be a leader can develop leadership ability through specific leadership programmes developed by Inspiring Excellence.
